Air Force Veteran. Two-time VA homebuyer.

Your VA loan should fit your family.

The VA loan is not the problem. Bad advice is. I compare multiple wholesale lenders and build your plan around real life, not the largest approval.

The direct answer

A VA loan is more than a rate and no down payment.

A VA-backed purchase loan offers eligible Veterans and service members a path to buy with no required down payment, no monthly mortgage insurance, and flexible underwriting. Your file still needs eligible service, available entitlement, qualifying income and credit, an acceptable property, and final lender approval.

Why I built That VA Guy

When we moved to Middle Georgia, we had $27.54 to our name.

We were a family of four trying to build a life with almost no margin. My Air Force leadership approved me for a second job, and the job led me into the mortgage industry.

I have since used my VA benefit twice and built my career from the ground up. I created That VA Guy so Veterans receive direct answers from someone who understands the move, the money stress, and the benefit from both sides.

How the name stuck

“Hey, this is Mitch, the VA guy. He knows VA loans.”

Agents and clients kept introducing me this way after I focused on VA loans. Referral after referral, I became “that VA guy” before I built the brand.

  • A payment built for your family’s life
  • Straight answers, even when the answer is no
  • Multiple wholesale lender options
  • One person accountable through closing
  • A plan built around your full VA benefit

State pages include local military communities, cost questions, and a direct path to your VA loan plan.

Moving to another state?

Ask me before you choose another lender.

A client moved to Maryland, so I added Maryland licensing and stayed with the file. Depending on the state, company licensing, and timing, Temporary Authority offers a path to keep the same mortgage plan while an application is processed.
