The VA loan is not the problem.
Bad advice, lender overlays, and rushed file reviews create most of the frustration Veterans blame on the program.
Meet Mitch Tucker
I'm a husband, dad of three, Air Force Veteran, Christian, two-time VA homebuyer, and mortgage broker. My family's story is why I care about the payment, the move, and the advice behind every loan.
Where this started
When my family first moved to Middle Georgia, we had $27.54 to our name and almost no room for the next expense. I knew the stress of a military move, a tight account, and a family depending on me.
My Air Force leadership approved me for a second job. That job brought me into the mortgage industry. We built from the ground up, and I used my VA loan benefit twice to put my family in a better position.
I built That VA Guy because Veterans deserve an open book. I will tell you what I see, explain the tradeoffs, and stay accountable from the first call through closing.

What I believe
Bad advice, lender overlays, and rushed file reviews create most of the frustration Veterans blame on the program.
Your maximum approval is not your target. The payment needs to leave room for your family, plans, and peace of mind.
If I see a problem, I will tell you early. Then I will show you the next move instead of sending you through a runaround.
No down payment matters. So do entitlement, seller credit, residual income, lender choice, property strategy, and long-term flexibility.
Faith, family, and work
Tell the truth. Keep my word. Own mistakes. Treat every family with care. My wife and three kids are the reason I never separate a loan decision from the life the payment has to support.
For you, this means no pressure and no polished answer meant to win the deal. You get my honest opinion, the numbers behind it, and a plan built around your goals.

Bring me the goal, the numbers, and the concern nobody has answered clearly. I will show you what I see.
